About Witt's End Witt's End was founded in 2001 by David Golanty with the goal to create scene-based, character-driven, fart-joke-free improv at the University of Michigan. With humble beginnings at the South Quadrangle Open Mic Night and Engineering Fraternity Date Auction, Witt's End grew tremendously over the next five years. In early 2005, Witt's End made the shift from short form improv to long form. Instead of performing as series of short games, they began experimenting with new forms, creating entire stories, characters, and themes onstage from a single audience suggestion. Witt's End now performs weekly around campus and Ann Arbor, putting on shows for free whenever possible and packing theatres. Under the guidance of coach Dan Izzo and with members trained at Second City and Upright Citizens Brigade, Witt's End continues to perfect its improvisation and work and perform with improvisors nationwide. Recently Witt's End has performed at the Diry South Improv Festival and has hosted The Shoves from Upright Citizens Brigade and The Reckoning from I/O Chicago to perform on campus and do private workshops.
